Help Kaiden pay for top surgery!

Hello! My name is Kaiden and I am a transgender young adult living in St. John's, Newfoundland. I am a parent to a big silly dog and a little but equally as silly cat. I recently graduated with an honours degree in behavioural neuroscience. I work and am still going to school. I am passionate about advocating for mental healthcare here in the province, as well as 2SLGBTQ+ rights. Sometimes I make art but I'm not good at it, I just like to create things.
Being transgender is just another part of who I am and always have been, although it still holds space in my everyday life. It's been a long journey of self discovery with a lot of twists and turns along the way, but I began my medical transition in March 2022 and it has been positively life changing. I think it is absolutely part of a series of events that saved my life.
Since then I have decided to take the next step. I have been wearing binders all day every day for years now, which is taking a toll on my physical health and causing frequent pain. The emotional impact is also significant; it is difficult to navigate daily life restricted by dysphoria. This past summer I was approved for top surgery and the referral was sent to the closest clinic, located in Moncton, New Brunswick. There will be a consultation and then at some point I will get a couple of week's notice to be there for a date. As you can imagine, it is expensive. While the majority of the procedure is covered by MCP, some of it is not. In addition, there will be flights, accommodations, time off of work, childcare for the puppers, etc.
I need your help, as much as I hate to admit it.
Any donation is very much appreciated. And if you can't donate, please take a moment to share. Anything above and beyond what is used (or if anything gets reimbursed for travel) will be donated to local organizations for queer mental health resources.
