Help Kaidra beat cancer

At some point in our lives, we need help, even if we don’t want to ask for it.
Enter, Kaidra Froelich (Myxter), a 29 year elementary school PE teacher, wife to Dustin, daughter, older sister, caring friend and mother of two beautiful daughters Brynlee (2yo) and Blayke (6mo). On June 16, Kaidra noticed she was losing feeling in the right side of her face. As the days passed the numbness took over the right side of her body. She went to the hospital, and the blood work came back clean. With the numbness persisting she got an MRI. This time the Doctor saw an abnormality and advised her to go to the Mayo clinic in Rochester, MN as soon as possible. Primary meetings with a neurosurgeon and neuro-oncologist left her with little more information; possibly MS, some inflamation, or a tumor. She underwent more tests, and it was determined she had a tumor (most likely a glioma) in her brain stem. Surgery was scheduled for July 19th for biopsy and if possible, removal of the tumor.
Surrounded by a team of wonderful doctors, the surgery lasted 6 hours and in the end they had removed as much as they could. She woke up with no major complications (phew), and slowly got back to walking and normal function over the next few days. Unfortunately, the numbness persisted, she says it feels like carrying an extra 20 pounds on the right, but her optimism preached she can live with that. On July 30th Kaidra and the rest of us finally got some answers. Her tumor is a grade 3 glioma, an anaplatic astrocytoma. Currently there is no cure, and it is considered to be terminal. Aside from an accident, it will likely be what carries her out of this physical existence.
This is not Kaidra’s obituary, and this is not the end of her positive outlook or fight. Just a realization of what is to come. She (and the rest of her friends, family and good vibe tribe) are waiting for test results showing if she has the IDH mutation, which responds better to treatment. She will soon undergo radiation and chemotherapy for 6 weeks, and continue the chemo the following 6 months. But that is only the beginning of her treatment plan…
At some point in our lives we test the strength of the relationships we’ve built. This time we’re looking to make an impact for Kaidra, someone who is exhibiting strength beyond comprehension. Kaidra has asked only for prayers and good vibes, but I for one am certain we can do more. The funds raised by this will go directly to help cover the burden of medical bills. For a nanny when she needs one, for food when she can stomach it and for a little peace of mind. If you are in a position to donate any amount is helpful. If you aren’t, you can send your prayers and good vibes via her Good Vibe Tribe Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/2017858905124243/) . Kaidra we love you, and hope this helps show how much other people do too!
