Donation protected
Aloha everyone.
I just wanted to update you on Kailon's statewide paddle out, which will be held on March 21 at 3 pm for both Oahu and Kauai.
I also wanted to thank you all again on behalf of the family. Everyone is overwhelmed with the continued outpouring of support. Vaughn keeps running into strangers who have a story to tell about Kai, most of them are of him helping them in one way or another. Of course, this isn't a surprise to any of us!
When there are updates, I will continue to share them here.
Aloha, Friends and Family of Kailon,
Although we have sadly said goodbye to Kailon, if you feel compelled to donate, those funds will still be used to cover any remaining expenses and perpetuate his legacy.
Your support has been astounding and the family feels so blessed by your love.
If you would like to keep Kailon's stoke alive, you can support and carry on his memory with the "Kailon Stoked" T. The family is working on a memorial/foundation to perpetuate his legacy and his shirt is a part of that.

We are reaching out today to ask for your support. Kailon is someone whose infectious smile and adventurous spirit make him a friend to all. Whether he’s charging the biggest waves or offering a spontaneous surfing lesson to a grom, Kailon’s energy is unstoppable. His positivity and generosity have made him a beloved figure to so many—and now, he needs our help.

On the night of February 12th, while skateboarding, Kailon was hit by a car and left for dead on the side of the road. Miraculously, first responders arrived quickly and were able to stabilize him. He was then rushed to Wilcox Hospital on Kaua‘i before being air lifted to Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, where he remains in critical condition in the ICU.
Kailon’s injuries are severe. He is currently unresponsive and on a ventilator. He has multiple skull fractures, brain swelling, and internal bleeding. Doctors are focusing on monitoring and reducing cranial pressure before moving forward with further treatment. Given the seriousness of his condition, Kailon will remain in the ICU for at least two weeks, with an uncertain and extended recovery ahead. This is a long and challenging journey—one that will require every bit of strength he has, as well as the love and support of everyone around him.
Kailon is a fighter, and we know he’s in the fight of his life right now. Friends and family are by his side, updating immediate family and friends as the situation evolves. He is being read all of our text messages of love and encouragement, letting him know we’re all sending him our thoughts and prayers, hoping they fuel his recovery.
This GoFundMe is being set up to help cover Kailon’s mounting medical costs. As you can imagine, his recovery will require extensive care, and your donations will ensure that he has the resources he needs for the best possible care as he heals. Every bit of support, no matter how small, will help us keep him in good hands during this long road to recovery.
We are so grateful for your prayers, your support, and your generosity at this critical time. Every act of kindness makes a difference, and together, we can help Kailon get through this.
Thank you for being part of Kailon’s journey and for helping us share the love and prayers that will make all the difference in his recovery. We believe in the power of community—and we believe in Kailon. We will share updates on this page as they come.
Mahalo Ke Akua for all the blessings he has already received. We know that with your help, Kailon can fight his way back to us.
With deepest gratitude,
Kailon’s Ohana
