Help Kaitlin After Emergency C-Section

Hello! My name is Latasha and I am making this GoFundMe for a dear friend of mine, Kaitlin (& her fiancé Carlos). Kaitlin, on the night of 01/06/25, had 2 pre-eclamptic seizures in the middle of the night within the short span of 2 hours. Her fiancé and she then decided to drive up to the U of M for further evaluation. Once they arrived at the U of M, Kaitlin experienced two more seizures, which in turn put the baby in distress. They started induction and unfortunately, Kaitlin started to bleed a massive amount, and due to the bleeding and the baby being in distress, they had no choice but to do an emergency C-section. Kaitlin was only 29 weeks pregnant. The baby was born on 01/07/25 and was only 3.4 lbs. She is doing well, and the doctors are estimating she will be there for two months; it could be longer (hopefully will be shorter) depending on multiple things.

Unfortunately, as every parent wishes to be there day in and day out with their child during something like this, bills have to be paid, so Carlos will have to return to work. They are trying to raise money for gas to get back and forth from the hospital to spend time with their baby, and since the baby was early, baby things for her. Kaitlin is on leave, but it is unpaid, unfortunately. Anything will help and even just a share could make a difference!
