Help Kale and Maddy rebuild a home

Hello everyone-
Thank you for taking the time to show your support and love during a very sad time in Maddy and I’s lives.

Yesterday, on 12/20/20 our attic caught fire, which destroyed everything we had up there for storage, laundry, art projects and furniture and much more. Once the fire department came, it took a lot of water to put out everything upstairs leaving the attic floors completely soaked. Since then, the entire ceiling in Maddy’s room has collapsed onto her floor. Other parts of the ceiling have come in and fallen in the hallway and our living room ceiling has constant leakage, leaving everything water damaged. The size of our house is small, and with the fire catching the insulation in the attic there is a significant stench of poisonous material and smoke attached to the clothes, bedding, mattress, rugs, blankets etc. 

Our house has been deemed inhabitable for 5-6 months, leaving Maddy and I unhoused.

 We are no longer able to rely on renters insurance because it was terminated due to one late payment, after paying on time for 4 consecutive years. We are left to build everything from scratch. We did not expect that yesterday would be the last time we would live in this home that we have been in for 4 years. A lot of time and love has been put into making our house a home. This is a very unexpected punch in the gut to the end of a very difficult year for everyone. 

The money contributed would help us find a secure place to rest our heads. It would help replace the things taken from us, and help with moving/transportation costs.

Anything you have to give is enough. It is extremely hard to be writing this and to be in such a  vulnerable position.
