Help Kaleb Heal from Severe Burns
Donation protected
UPDATE: Today, 2/3/25, Kaleb will undergo his first surgery to apply mesh grafts and this will help the doctors determine the full extent of damage. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, donated, and offered their prayers and love. Keep them coming!
On 1/30/2025, Kaleb was involved in an accident at his family’s home resulting in 2nd and 3rd degree burns (40%) on his trunk and extremities. Kaleb was airlifted to an Orlando hospital where he was initially treated, stabilized, and then airlifted to the PICU at Shands Children’s Hospital in Gainesville. He is stable, heavily sedated for pain management, and although on oxygen, his lungs have been spared. He will need to have multiple skin grafts and his recovery will be a lengthy one. He has made it through the first 24 hours w/o further complications and no signs of infection.
Kaleb is my 9-year-old nephew and just the sweetest and most energetic little boy ever. He loves cooking and experimenting with food. He’s a very caring boy who’s always helping his brothers, sisters, and classmates at school. When he grows up, he plans to continue helping others as a police officer, firefighter, or following in his parents' footsteps and joining the Marine Corps.
Currently, we are asking for financial support to help with medical expenses, his airlift rides, and unforeseen daily living expenses. The family is currently unable to afford medical/health insurance and facing very expensive medical bills. My hope in creating this is to ensure that we can ease the financial burdens and allow his parents, Quincy and Fulvia, to focus on Kaleb’s physical recovery as well as the emotional healing that’s expected for Kaleb and his 4 siblings at home from this traumatic experience.
Please consider contributing if you can, and if not, please share this campaign with others. We thank you in advance for your support, love, and prayers during this difficult time.
With gratitude,
