Support Kal-El & Whitney Family Recovery
Donation protected
On January 6, 2019, a tragic accident impacted the Whitney family where young Kal-El was hit by a falling solid wood table. The table caused severe trauma to his head and face and he was airlifted to a trauma center in El Paso, Tx.
They had to remove 4 baby teeth because they were free floating. He needed one unit of blood and may need more. The injury was massive and they had to fix his orbital bone because that was shattered— we’re praying there’s no long term problems with sight or drooping of his eye. They were able to use dissolvable plates and screws for the upper half of his face but not the lower so he will need surgery again to remove them in 4-6 months. They had to shave his head so they could cut his scalp and lower the skin down to get to the bones. He can move his jaw and we want that so prayers that stays! He will be on an all liquid diet for about 6 weeks.
His palate was completely split and his laceration below his lip was through and through and they haven’t stitched that yet
And he actually had fractures on both sides of his face the zygomatic bone.
ENT came to evaluate and determined his eardrums were both blown out as well.
All of your donations will go towards helping this family travel to and from the hospital, and to assist with the lost time from work. As a new employee they haven’t been able to acrue paid time off in the coming months as Kal-El continues to heal and progress through any therapy’s and follow up appointments necessary. This will also help cover the costs of things health insurance does not such as lodging, food from home, and missed time from work.
God bless all of you for your support and prayers!
*This GoFundMe has been set up by me with permission from the family at my request so we as a community can pull together to help them*
