Help Kaliyah Fight Retinoblastoma: Baby bean’s Journey Towards Healing

We are reaching out with heavy but hopeful hearts to ask for your support during a very difficult time. Sweet Kaliyah who is just 7 months old has been diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of eye cancer that affects infants and young children. This diagnosis has turned our friend Cyndee and her family’s world upside down, and we are doing everything we can to give them and the baby the best chance for a healthy, happy life. Along with Kaliyah, Cyndee has 4 boys at home she cares for. Isaak (14), Drennan (11), and twins Shiloh & Jahleo (8) who will also be directly affected by this diagnosis as Cyndee will have to be away for periods of time and will have to rely on friends and family for help.

What is Retinoblastoma?
Retinoblastoma is a rare cancer that develops in the retina of the eye, typically in children under the age of 2. In Kaliyah’s case, the tumor was discovered after her mom noticed a white reflection in her eye and saw abnormal eye movement.. This has led to a series of tests, treatments, and urgent medical interventions that require both specialized care and extensive travel. Amongst the diagnosis it was revealed that her retina was also completely detached due to the tumor which will mean a possible eye removal and prosthetic replacement.

Currently, Kaliyah will be undergoing chemotherapy/surgery/radiation, surgeries and needs continuous medical care, including future treatments, doctor visits, etc. This process is emotionally, physically, and financially taxing, and we are asking on behalf of our good friend Cyndee - for help to cover the mounting expenses that insurance doesn’t fully cover, especially extra care and help with the other children when she is not able to be there. Every donation will help fund baby bean’s road to recovery.
As we try to be here to help Cyndee and her family navigate this difficult journey, we are trying to focus on getting Kaliyah the best possible care. However, the treatment of retinoblastoma is overwhelming. Your generous support, no matter how big or small, will help ease the strain and allow our friend to focus on what truly matters: Her  baby’s health and well-being.
