Help Kally and Zack Fight Cancer and Homelessness

Donation protected

Hi there, my name is Kally and I am technically a caretaker for my fiancé. Zack, my fiancé, has stage 4 Nodular Sclerosis Hodgkin Lymphoma and was diagnosed in December 2023. In January of 2024, he started to undergo chemo and immunotherapy, only to find out one of them had given him an induced seizure, resulting in the loss of his license. Over those months, thanks to his father and Medi-Cal transportation, we were still able to get to and from his appointments so he could get treated. Fast forward to around August, we had to surrender our car as neither of us have a job or any income coming in, and he still does not have his license back due to the medical suspension. The chemo/immunotherapy seems to be doing good in his system, but they sent him to another oncologist that he had gone to previously for his first bout of cancer and had decided to do an in-depth look at what we are dealing with.

The other oncologist, who is top-notch at his job and studies, had told us, sure, he is currently in remission, but since this is the second time that he has had cancer, there is a possibility it may be one of those cancers that just keeps continuously coming back, and we needed to discuss the possibility of an allogenic stem cell treatment, meaning he would be getting a transplant of someone else's stem cells into his body and have the possibility of getting graft-versus-host disease or possibly passing away.

Over these last few months, we had been doing constant imaging, PET scans, dental, and other organ checks to make sure he is even able to do so, and right now we are in limbo.

On November 7th, 2024, at around 8:00 PM, his father had gone down to lay in bed complaining of not being able to breathe, and to our understanding, he was having either a stroke or a heart attack. We had panicked all night, and they said nothing could have been done; he had passed away. Zack's father was the only person in his life who had given a damn about him and was the only true adult in his life. His birth mother never cared and hasn't cared ever since his first diagnosis with cancer, and we want nothing to do with her in any sense of the help, if offered. Now the depression and the desire of not wanting to live are very high, and I am trying my best to support him.

It is now December 27th, 2024, almost the new year. We have been told by the owner of the house, the stepmother, that we have until summer to figure things out, as we will be getting kicked out and most likely be homeless. I have been trying my best to be a beam of hope and light in this, setting up appointments, calling doctors, calling the DMV, looking for help in all the places possible. We need help, we need support. Neither of us have family out here; we only have each other and our pets, Quinn and Archer. I don't like asking for help, I don't like begging. I'm scared, I don't want to be homeless, I don't want the depression to take over Zack and him leave me. He is the only thing in my life that makes me happy, that I give a damn about something, someone.

Right now, we're trying to get his license back, and when we do, that is a huge step to the start of something. The only problem is not having a car. I do not want to make you feel guilty or pressure you, but any help towards getting a car, or even getting our own place near his oncologist's offices, would be amazing. That's all I want for a belated Christmas present or a birthday present. I just want us to try to enjoy what life we may have left together because I'm unsure of the results that getting a stem cell transplant may do to him.

I genuinely appreciate everyone who has taken the time to read this GoFundMe. You have no idea how much it means to me that you share, spread awareness, or donate towards our cause. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I also have cashapp if you don't feel comfortable donating here. My cash app is $literallykala

**EDIT: Just to be clear, we did have another GoFundMe that was up 6 months ago asking for help for food and rent, but that one is deleted. We just have this new current one. Thank you so much**
