Help Kalman regain his health

Hi, my name is Andrea Popan, and my husband, Mihai, and I have created this account to raise money for our dear friend, Kalman Nagy.

Kalmi (as his friends and family know him) was shocked to receive the devastating diagnosis of renal cancer at the young age of 40. Kalmi is a great friend who never fails to help anyone in need. He is always there for our family and his friends, he is kind and brave and would do anything when it comes to helping someone. His generosity, big character and loyalty make him the unique person that everyone is attracted to.

Renal cancer ( also known as kidney cancer) is a disease in which malignant cells are found in the lining of the tubules in the kidney.
Treatment may include removing the entire kidney or its affected parts. It may also include destroying the tumor with radio waves or by freezing it. If the carcinoma has spread beyond the kidneys, options include immunotherapy, molecular targeted therapies, or localized radiation therapy.

Evidently, treatments are unique to each case, and in Kalmi's case, he wanted to fly back to his home country, Romania, to be
close to his family and friends during these difficult times. There he was supposed undergo surgery to remove his right kidney , which is the most
affected part, but before he flew home, an MRI revealed a clot very close to his heart that is impairing blood flow  on one of the biggest blood vessel, the vena cava. This made the situation more complex than anticipated, and the surgery a very complicated and difficult one. In Romania, he found out that these type of surgeries cannot be done, because  they do not have the necessary tools, and they recommended Kalmi to fly back to the United States and have the procedure done here, at Stanford. Kalman is at Renown hospital now waiting to be transferred to Stanford.
Kalmi has a long and very difficult road ahead of him. We are praying that he falls in the hands of the most skilled vascular doctor and urologist to perform this difficult task. After recovery, Kalman will see an oncologist and  start the treatment through chemotherapy.
Because we love him very much, we want to make sure that money is not something
that him and his family need to worry about.
