Hi, my name is Celeste. I live in Alberta, Canada. I am fundraising to help Kamal Rael and his large family survive the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Like most families in Gaza, Kamal's is struggling. Living in tents, lack of food and water, lack of resources. It is heartbreaking, and maddening that the beautiful people of Palestine are being made to suffer constant, ongoing injustices. Hello everyone, I am Kamal from Gaza. I write this after much thought and hesitation. But the urgency and need to save my family is too great for me to hold on. I am deeply asking for your generous support to help me and my family evacuate.

I reach out to you with a heavy heart and a plea for urgent assistance. We are currently trapped in the war-torn Gaza Strip, facing enormous risks and hardships every day.

The conflict in Gaza has taken everything from us. My home and my family's home were destroyed in the first days of the war, leaving us homeless and displaced. We had to move from one temporary shelter to another, without any place providing us with safety or stability. The situation in Gaza has become increasingly dire, and there is no end to the violence and destruction in sight.

I used to work as a software engineer, but my work stopped because of the war. We have exhausted all our savings to buy basic necessities like food and shelter. My father worked tirelessly his whole life to build our house, and now it was reduced to rubble, along with all of our possessions and memories.

Our family of ten members, including my grandfather, grandmother, father, mother and sisters, are struggling to survive in these harsh conditions. We fear for our lives at every moment, and we know that staying in Gaza is not an option if we want to ensure our safety and rebuild our shattered lives.

We urgently need to leave Gaza for our safety and well-being. The funds raised will be used for transportation, documentation and other expenses related to crossing the Egyptian border. We estimate that we need $5,000 for each family member, for a total of $50,000 for our entire family.
