Help Village Church Kampala

Hi! My name is Paul and I'm fundraising for a group of Christians living in Kabaga, a very poor area of Kampala, Uganda. For this to make sense, let me first introduce you to Pastor Kaleb, a man whose life story is a testament to the transformative power of faith.

Orphaned at the age of 10, Kaleb spent seven years living in the bush near Kampala, Uganda, forced to steal from farms to survive. But one day, a pastor spoke to him about Jesus and showed him the love that he had never known before. This encounter changed Kaleb's life forever, and he dedicated himself to spreading the message of salvation through faith in Jesus, to others.

In Dec of 2021, Kaleb began acting on a vision that God had placed in his heart to start a "Village Church" in a poor area of Kampala.

Armed only with the Bible, faith in the promises of God and determination, he went door to door, sharing the Gospel with everyone he met. Despite numerous challenges, Kaleb persevered, and his efforts have borne fruit. Since he started his outreach, many people in this poor community have been touched by the Gospel message and lives have been changed. Youth and young adults are participating in outreaches, resulting in growth and baptisms.

Today the church sees a regular attendance of 130 adults and 70 children, of which the majority are new Christians.

The church was challenged recently when they found out that the outdoor tract of land that they were renting is being sold and there would soon be no place to meet. This faithful group of new believers spent entire nights in prayer for a piece of land, where they can set up their tents and gather to worship and grow in the love of God.

That's when God did something amazing! He answered their prayer by providing the funds needed to purchase the land. Watch this video:

Now, there is a new challenge facing this church; if they cannot put in a septic field, plumbing, toilets and running water, the government will not allow them to meet as a church. They will also need electricity, a building for storage and a security fence. They only have until the end of July for the work to be completed.

We want to support Pastor Kaleb in his mission to spread the love of Jesus in this poor area of Kampala. With your help, we can raise the funds needed to turn this plot of land into a usable place for the church to gather.

Our goal is to raise $30,000.00 CAD to provide Kaleb with the resources he needs to build a place of worship that will be a beacon of light in this desperate community. I want to thank all of you who contributed to help this church. As of today, enough money has been collected to build the septic field, dig a well, build the toilets and install the plumbing and fixtures. They are waiting for an inspection and if all goes well, they will be able to move their tents to the new location and begin services there. Praise to God for answering pray!
