Help Karen Bates Recover From Brain Surgery

If you know Karen and Clint Bates, you have probably been helped by one or both of them at some point.   They are the first to reach out and lend a hand whenever someone needs help.   Whether the need is big or small, they are so generous with their time and talents.   They are a wonderful family and a blessing to their extended families, their friends and their community.

Earlier this spring, Karen started experiencing debilitating headaches and learned that she has a meningioma - a type of brain tumor.  Thankfully, this type of tumor is operable and Karen is having surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital on June 11th.  However, the recovery will take some time and Karen will not be able to work serving her beloved equine clients for a while.   While Clint's employer and colleagues are very supportive, Clint's income will likely also be impacted as he will need to focus on taking care of Karen during her recovery.

As her friends, we want to alleviate the financial impact that this unforeseen illness will have on the Bates family.   We've started this fundraiser to cover the costs of Karen's medical care that will not be covered by their medical insurance as well to help them with the loss of income and other expenses.  This will allow Karen to recover fully and get all the care she needs without the stress of worrying about financial concerns.
