Help Karen Han Rebuild Her Musical Life

Hello my name is Kenneth Burgomaster. I'm a composer and I live in Santa Monica, CA. I've started this fundraiser to help my friend and wonderful erhu player Karen Han.

Unfortunately she lost not only her house in the Palisades fire but 18 bowed Chinese stringed instruments (erhu, gaohu, zhonghu, and banhu) as well as her baby grand piano, guitars and an electric bass. We met when she played on one of my scores, and she has worked with many well-known composers including John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, Ludwig Goransson, John Debney, Christopher Young and Marco Beltrami. Her playing can be heard in such blockbuster movie scores as Memoirs of a Geisha, Kung Fu Panda, The Passion of the Christ, The Hurt Locker, Turning Red, and many more.

Karen has expressed her sincere gratitude to anyone who is willing to help in any capacity during this very difficult time. So many people have lost so much, and many of us have already donated to multiple causes.

Any contributions will go toward replacing instruments and other related items which will help Karen rebuild her life, career, and the sound of her beautiful playing!
