Help Karen Lavin Knock Cancer Out
Donation protected
Thank you to all that have donated so far. Every dollar helps. We are hoping to relieve most of her financial stress so she can focus on getting better. She wasn't able to keep a regular work schedule for 2 months before going into the hospital and now she has a long road ahead of her and won't be working anytime soon.
She was in critical condition when we finally figured out her diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL). It is a rare/aggressive form of Lymphoma. The doctors have been hopeful that it is treatable. She has made progress and is finally able to talk with us. She doesn't remember much of the last couple of months and is trying to put the pieces together.
Please share the Go Fund Me link so we can get our cause out to more people. If anyone is uneasy about online donations, please reach out to one of us. We can make a check/cash donation directly to her bank account. Checks made out to Karen Lavin. Your continued thoughts, prayers & contributions are greatly appreciated.
Hi, my name is Jacki Pugliese, and most of my childhood memories are sleepovers at my Auntie Karen’s house. It isn’t just me she opens her home up to as for the past 36 years she has been a beloved Daycare Provider for Catholic Charities. She has given so much to children and families in need and her generosity became something her family was involved in during the holidays — sponsoring many families to make Christmas wishes come true. Karen Lavin is a care giver and a protector to her core. And now it’s time she receive the same affection. Our lives changed dramatically when (who I affectionately call) “AK” was diagnosed with Stage 3 T-Cell Lymphoma. Although she is currently under great care at MGH, she has a long road ahead of her. To me and the rest of her nieces and nephews, she is the worlds greatest aunt but she wears many hats — Mom, Mamma, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Daycare Provider, Sebago Lake Enthusiast, and many more. As you can imagine, it is difficult enough to face this news and the steps she and our family face next, but it is debilitating to think of the financial stress that comes attached to it. We, as a family, have received so much love, support, and well wishes from those in our circle and are now hoping that circle can be expanded as we need help financially from our community. Please consider donating to my AK. We will be forever grateful.
