Help Karen pay for her father's funeral

My dear friend Karen and her family were recently faced with an unexpected loss of her father two days before Christmas. They recently learned that her father did not have any life insurance and did not own any assets that could be sold in order to help pay for her father's final expenses. As her father's only living family member, it has been left on Karen and her husband Rob, to pay for funeral costs. After spending much time researching costs and arrangements, they have found his final expenses will come to a minimum amount of approximately $1,500, which would be a very basic cremation and no services. Even though this is a small amount in regards to funeral costs, this is still an amount that will be next to impossible for her family to come up with.

While Karen and Rob both have jobs and income, these costs will hurt the family substantially. Karen and Rob have two amazing children. The oldest recently graduated from Grand Ledge and attends LCC. Their youngest son is still in middle school and very active on Boy Scouts and sports. Additionally, the family takes care of Robs mother in their home. Karen and Rob are people who will always go out of their way to help someone if they are able. I ask that you consider helping them out if you are able as well.
