Help Us Save Our Fur Baby Oreo’s Life

Hi, my name is Karen. Meet my fur baby Oreo. He is my daughter and I’s 5 year old baby kitty. My daughter is heartbroken and so am I. He is such a loving and sweet cat. We have built such a beautiful bond. Every one at the vet loves him.

Oreo starting acting weird. He would growl which I now know it was because he was in pain. He was very lethargic and would hide. He wasn’t eating and just barely drinking. I called every vet and no one would see him. We brought him to urgent care and they are really expensive and I couldn’t afford them.

The next day I called more vets and found an amazing vet that was more affordable. Oreo had an Urethral blockage. He couldn’t urinate and was in so much pain.

Since so much time went by to see a vet that he was within hours of dying. We were devasted. If we didn’t save him then he would be euthanized. I don’t know what I would do without him. There was no decision to be made. I had to save our cat. We don’t know what we would do without him.

They fixed the blockage. His labs came back “astronomical high” said the vet. His temperature was 91 degrees. We had no idea if he was going to make it. In 24 hours his numbers went back to normal. They call him a “miracle” said the vet. The red wrap on his paw is for his IVs. He was extremely dehydrated and he needs nutrition. O

They did give him lots love. He was there for quite sometime. At night he had to stay at the emergency room and it costs $1000-$2000 a night. That doesn’t include the vet bills where he was during the day. He still has a lot of check ups to make sure he is still doing good. We don’t want him to get blocked again,

He now has to be on a prescription diet and medication which is super expensive. I have no idea how I am going to afford it. I don’t want to surrender my cat after all this because I can’t afford food. I can’t give him up. It would kill us.
