Help Karen with Satin's Emergency Surgery Costs
Donation protected
Hi everyone, we want to tell you about our friend, Karen. If you live on the Connecticut shoreline near Old Saybrook, there's a good chance her kind spirit has touched your life. Karen is always the first one to lend a hand to help others - from her weekly commitment at the Shoreline Food Pantry in Clinton, to Midnight Runs to New Haven with food and clothing to those in need, to nearby homeless shelters, to her work at her church in Killingworth, Karen gives you hope that there's good in the world. She doesn't do it for credit; she does it because that's just who she is.
Karen's horse, Satin, is more than just a pet to her; she's family. Karen doesn’t have children, but Satin has been her constant companion for the last 23 incredible years. During those years, Karen and Satin won countless awards together up and down the eastern seaboard. Satin is a champion and the bond Karen shares with her is something very special.
In the last six months, Satin got very sick and needed emergency surgery, Karen was all in, no questions asked. The surgery was a success, thank goodness, but it left Karen with a staggering vet bill of $20,000. With her husband Bruce also facing his own health battles recently, we wanted to see if we could help them cover some of the costs they're facing.
We've set a goal of $10,000, anything you can give will make a difference. We want to show Karen that all the love she's put out into the world is flowing back to her when she needs it most.
