What a long drive that was!! We finally made it to our destination and we are trying to get set up.

Edit: We made it to Southern Illinois after a 4 day drive and stayed for about 5 days. We decided that Metropolis was not the place for us and moved on to another state to live with our best friends of 30 years. YES, we back tracked from Illions to Texas. WE ARE HOME NOW. WE NEED HELP GETTING SET UP.

Hi, my name is Karie Hambrick. My family and I are facing an incredibly difficult time following the passing of my father on December 22nd. Today (12/29/24) Just after going live with this fundraiser I was informed my Step Mom Terri had also passed away a couple days ago. Losing my Dad was hardest on her. We urgently need to move from California back to Southern Illinois to be with our loved ones during this time of grief. Unfortunately, the cost of this move is overwhelming, and we are asking for your help to make this transition possible.

For the past 5 years, my family and I have been living in California, but Southern Illinois has always been home. Losing my father has been a heartbreaking experience, and being with my family in Illinois is crucial for our healing and support.

We have decided to relocate to Southern Illinois as soon as possible to be closer to family, but the moving costs are far beyond what we can afford right now. After researching and getting quotes, we’ve learned that the cost of moving our belongings and family safely across the country will be around $10,000.
