Help Karissa with the loss of her entire family

Karissa tragically lost her mother, father, and brother last night, simultaneously, to an overdose. Losing one family member suddenly is devastating- but to lose all 3 at once is unthinkable. Karissa overcame her own struggles to get sober 9 years ago and has transformed her life. She is a Drug and Alcohol Counselor helping others find their path to a better life. Unfortunately she has now lost almost all her immediate family in one night to the disease she spends her time fighting against.

Karissa is pregnant with twins in her 3rd trimester and medically fragile right now. The shock and emotional impact of this will be enormous for her and her babies, but she also has to figure out how to cover the costs of final arrangements for THREE people at once. She needs the support of her community and the community at large. She will not be able to work for a while given her medical state.

The cost of even the most basic final arrangements (cremation) is unfortunately very high in San Diego.

We (Diana De Rosa and Heather Sorgine) have known Karissa for a very long time and we know she works incredibly hard. She has overcome a huge number of obstacles to find a stable and healthy life for her and her babies. Something like this can devastate a person financially and take years to crawl out of the hole. Karissa and her twins need the help of her friends, family, and kind internet strangers to get through this incredible tragedy.
