Help Kasia Fight Breast Cancer

I’m posting this for my beautiful friend, Kasia, and her family who are going through a terrible nightmare. Kasia is a Kanawha County School bus driver, wife, and mother of two, Allie, 19 and Samuel, 12. At her yearly mammogram discovered a deep breast nodule. She had a needle core biopsy and the results came back positive for invasive ductal carcinoma that is progesterone and estrogen receptor positive. The HER2 status is still pending. It’s classified as Grade 2 with a Nottingham score of 6. We also pray there is zero lymph node involvement, which they’ll have a better understanding on that after surgery. She is also awaiting an appointment out of state for a second opinion.

Radiation will be necessary and chemotherapy is still undecided until she meets with her oncologist. Kasia will be off work for an unknown amount of time, which will be a big hit to their income. Chris already works 2 jobs and is planning on picking up as much OT as possible, but losing out on Kasia’s salary will cause an unnecessary struggle for this already stressed family. Allie is in her second semester of college and is also working as much as she can in her free time.

Anything that is donated will go towards their household bills and any medical and travel expenses they incur during this time.
