Help Kat get Top Surgery

Hello! My name is Kat (they/them) :)

I’m 26 years old and nonbinary.

I am reaching out to you to help raise funds for my top surgery.

I must admit coming to terms with being transgender hasn't been easy. I always knew something was going on, something didn't fit. I didn't fit. Taking on labels has always been a struggle for me. I am doing better now and fully identify myself as being Nonbinary/transgender, but it is still an ongoing journey.

Binding or taping is another struggle.

As an autistic individual, chest binding and taping can be especially challenging. The sensory issues associated with autism make the constant tightness and restriction from binding incredibly uncomfortable. The texture and pressure can be overwhelming, leading to heightened sensory distress and making daily life more difficult. This struggle with binding intensifies my need for top surgery, as it would eliminate my daily discomfort and allow me to live more freely.

I’ve been on this journey to make my body feel like my own for a good while, and I’ve decided to pursue top surgery privately because the wait time through the NHS is simply too long. The funds raised will cover the cost of assessments, referrals, appointments, and the surgery itself, which is estimated to be around £8000. This also includes the necessary travel and recovery expenses.

Unfortunately the surgeon I was going to go with has since moved his practice back to his home country Greece. I am actively looking for a new surgeon, with the option in the back of my head to possibly get the surgery done overseas.

Living as my true self is not only incredibly important to me, it is a need for my self-esteem/mental health. I want to feel comfortable in my own skin when I look in the mirror. I want my body to reflect who I am inside. This surgery is crucial for me to start living confidently.
