Help Kate Get The Complete Wheelchair She Needs!
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kate, and I'm reaching out to you from a place of urgent need and hope. In February, the NDIA acknowledged part of my necessity by approving a base/frame for a new electric wheelchair—an essential step towards enhancing my mobility. However, they unexpectedly turned down the critical funding for the seating system, the very component that ensures comfort, stability, and posture support. This decision has left me in a difficult and disheartening situation.
Imagine being given the frame of a bicycle but no seat to sit on; that's essentially my current predicament. The seating system isn't a luxury; it's a fundamental need that transforms a mere frame into a source of independence and relief. Without it, the wheelchair, once a symbol of hope, remains incomplete and unusable.
Moreover, with every plan review, I find myself facing further reductions in my funding, which significantly impacts my independence and mental health. These cutbacks not only hinder my daily living but also leave me feeling more isolated and dependent on others.
That's why I'm turning to you—my community, friends, and anyone moved by my story—for support. I am starting this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the seating system that will make my wheelchair functional and truly mine. Your contribution can make a tremendous difference in my life, offering me the comfort and independence I dearly miss.
If you cannot donate, I understand, but please consider sharing this campaign with others. Spreading the word increases our chances of reaching our goal together.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can offer. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to me.
With gratitude,
Kate
