Help Kate get through this tragic emergency

Hello, Im Ember Allred and Im doing a fundraiser for my coworker and friend Kate Woody. I have only known Kate for a short time as her and her husband Gregg are new to the area. As we all know relocating can get quite expensive and Kate and Woody exhausted all their funds moving to Bremerton. They were both ready and so excited for this new journey in life and Gregg being an air force veteran absolutely loved his new job doing fire watch at the Navy Base in Bremerton. There is nothing that could have prepared Kate for the devastating tragedy that occured on Saturday Jan. 13th.
That night Gregg suffered cardiac arrest followed by prolonged CPR to try to restore his heartbeat, but was deprived of oxygen and suffered catastrophic brain damage. Unfortunately Gregg has no insurance policies in place as he and Kate were looking forward to a long future together and they thought this was just the beginning for them. Woody is the main provider of their household and Kate will now be out of work indefinitely as well. Kate does not have any family here in Washington so the help we receive here for her is our only recourse. Please share this with your family, friends, charitable organizations, anyone they may be able to help Kate. Kate does not qualify for any aid or fmla from WA. state since she has only been here for 6 months.
story from Kate:
Six years ago I went on a date with my best friend. We were in our late 40s and early 50s at that point, with grown children and our former marriages in the rear-view mirror. We found ourselves in the same town, at the same time; and through the miracle of facebook, we found each other again. He told me on that very night that he was going to marry me. I laughed, but here we are 6 years later, on a date that never ended. We have been laughing together and loving one another on a fantastic adventure ever since.
Woody has been the glue that held us together-my penguin- my partner- my person. He would always tell me , "comment on-dit adieu" or "how do we say goodbye?" in French. How, indeed. I can't remember a time in my life before him, nor do I want to consider a future without him in it. He was always the most vibrant, funny, quick-witted person in the room. We were so lucky to have each other, and we called each other "baby". "Baby loves baby" is what I said to him as I dropped him off for work on Saturday morning Jan 13th. On Saturday evening I received word that he has been rushed to St. Michael's Hospital.
This wasn't supposed to be the end of our story. We were building a fresh and beautiful life, and didn't plan for the future because we thought there would be time! As its been said, life is what happens when you're busy making other plans. Facing death was not supposed to be part of the equation for a very long time.
Hey, Woody- Baby loves Baby
P.S I am going to keep stealing your socks
