Help Kate Wright and her Family

Hi, my name is Erin Blume, I have known Kate Wright like so many of you have through the Aveda Network. Kate was always the connector. She had a gift for connecting Aveda Mentors with other Aveda Artists, Friends, Students, and even Guests. She was an innovator as an Aveda Colorist at Square One Salon in Columbus, Ohio. In addition, she served on the Aveda Education Team for many years, lending her knowledge and craft in the world of Aveda Hair Color and Styling.

Not only is Kate a total badass and loves all things Bowie, Theater, hair, makeup, her amazing Family (Casey her husband and Max, her son), she is also a Cancer Warrior. Four years ago she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Bile Duct cancer. With her dream team of doctors and family by her side, she went into remission. She was back, but let's be real, its not like she was ever gone. Kate is a fighter!

2020 hit us all like a ton of bricks. The pandemic f everything up, but Kate was also diagnosed again with cancer. It had returned. It was stage 4. So while most of us were at home freaking out over toilet paper and water shortages, Kate had returned to experimental treatments with her dream team of doctors. Day in and day out of the hospital without any complaints.

March 2022, Kate was placed into a nursing facility where she has been receiving round-the-clock care from some of the best nurses. On March 13, 2022 Kate passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by love in Worthington, Ohio.

Like so many of us, we want to help Kate and her family, just as Kate has helped us in our own lives. Unfortunately, four years of medical bills add up. This money will go towards future arrangements and bills that need to be paid. As well as providing some financial comfort to her son Max, husband Casey, her dog Olive, and two cats Turk and Daffy.
