Help Kathy with medical stuff!

Donation protected
Hi, everybody.  My name’s Kathy.  If you know me, you know I always like to help people, but absolutely hate asking for help for me.  But anyway, here goes…

Back in January, I got hurt at work and ended up having to be out for a while.  In the time I was at home, I ended up needing shoulder surgery.  The issue was relatively minor, thank goodness—scar tissue and bursitis were the culprits.  But I still needed time to recover.

My work injury benefits ended last week, but I still needed time to recover from my surgery.  (I didn’t know recovery times would take that long.)  the surgeon released me to go back to work, but only for desk duty for 4 weeks, then I could resume regular duties.  But since there no available spots for that kind of work, I have to use paid time off.  Unfortunately, I used it up a good while back, and now I’ve been leave without pay since February.  My job is federally protected but my health insurance has lapsed, leaving me without coverage, and now having to pay out of pocket for everything, including medication.

Here is where I need your help.  I am epileptic, and the medication I use is not cheap; neither is the diabetic medication.  I also have a couple of medical visits coming up.  Since I now lack insurance coverage, I have to pay out of pocket.  I’m not sure how much they are, but I know  one of the visits is at least $100.

I don’t expect to get the whole $2500.  I just want at least a little help until I go back to work.  If you can’t donate, that’s fine.  Just share my story in hopes that someone you know might be in more of a position to.

Thanks,
Kathy
