Help Katie and her kitties escape homelessness!

These two handsome devils are Freddie Purrcury and Jupiter, and their mom Katie really needs your help to keep them safe and housed! She is a dear friend and incredible person who has done so much for so many people. She needs support and aid, and on her behalf we want to help her get it.

Katie lost her housing in September 2023 and recently lost the ability to drive her vehicle after it was vandalized right outside her temporary stay. The good news is that her insurance company will handle the repairs; the bad news is that her policy carries a $1000 deductible that she has to pay out of pocket.

Katie depends on her car to work; she juggles multiple courier and delivery jobs to make ends meet. Her chosen career in marketing was hit very hard by the pandemic and resulting economic blowback. Katie is also disabled and these factors combined mean that these gigs are some of the only work available to her at this time. For this reason, it is imperative that Katie have her vehicle repaired.

Any funds raised will go directly to Katie and her two precious boys. Not only does she to cover her car repair deductible, she also needs money to pay basic living expenses and replace lost wages while the vehicle is being repaired.

Complicating matters further, Katie's temporary housing ends mid-November. A friend with an affordable room available has offered it to Katie if she can put $1050 down by November 1, but due to multiple crisis events in short succession, she needs your help to secure it!

Katie has survived so many things in her life: domestic violence, poverty, abuse, unemployment, alcoholism (four years sober!), permanent injuries from an auto accident, her mother's recent Parkinson's diagnosis, and the passing of those close to her.

Through it all, she has managed to be a ray of light for so many people: smart, insightful, hilarious, kind, and honest. She and her kitties deserve a home where they can feel safe.
