Help Katie and Ryan navigate the next few months

On Saturday, November 27th, Katie and Ryan were about to fly home from Orlando with their father (Joe Merrill). Joe, age 48, collapsed and passed away in the airport. Katie and Ryan are both full-time college students. They lived with their father and worked part-time at his place of employment. They are blessed to have a strong emotional support system of friends, family, classmates, co-workers and their church family. But there are so many unknowns ahead. They will be staying with myself and my husband (mom and step-dad) in Hillsborough NH. They are both determined to finish the school year and graduate in May (Katie with a bachelors degree from St. A’s and Ryan with an Associates degree from Manchester Community College). There are generous and wonderful people in our extended circle who will be (financially) taking care of the services and my husband and I will continue to offer all of the emotional and financial support that we can. The coming weeks will be incredibly stressful for Katie and Ryan because at ages 22 & 20 they are the legal next of kin and will now need to figure out the logistics of settling their father’s affairs, moving into our home, finishing college, etc, etc.
