Help Katie Breathe Again

Hey everyone, thank you for taking the time out of your day to read about my situation, and I hope my message finds you in good health. As some of you may know, I take great pride in being as honest and real as I can, and asking for help is something that I now know goes hand in hand. To give a bit of a back story; following a past accident which left me with a broken nose paired with some bad genetics, I have been dealing with chronic pain and migraines due to my sinuses, as well as very limited breathing (one nasal passage is fully blocked, the other I can breathe about 25% through). The trauma to my nose caused my cartilage to collapse in multiple spots, and when next to the many growths that I recently discovered I had, my nasal passages are pretty close to being entirely blocked. Because of the blockage, I’ve been told part of my daily pain comes from having chronic sinusitis (sinus infection) which cannot be treated or drained without medical intervention. I have been dealing with the pain and headaches for about 8 years now, and take antihistamines, nasal decongestants, allergy sprays and pills and pain killers on a daily basis, just to get some relief and be able to get to work. Over the last 2 years, the pain has increased significantly to where I get home from work in the afternoon and go directly to bed. It’s extremely hard to focus, and a lot of things I’d like to do and accomplish have been put on hold because of the pain I am putting up with. Recently, I was able to get in with an ENT & Facial Surgeon, who explained the extent of my injury and what can be done to fix it. In order to repair my nose and sinuses, they will be grafting cartilage from my ribs and fixing the broken nasal bridge, removing the bone growths, and going in and clearing out my sinuses of the infection that’s been lingering. I am very hopeful and optimistic that this procedure will improve my quality of life immensely, and am extremely grateful I have a job that will be flexible with my recovery. My insurance will only cover some of the procedure, and in order to pay for the remainder of my out of pocket expenses as well as costs during my recovery period, I have decided to reach out and ask for help.
