Help Katie care for her sick boy.

Hello my name is Lauren and I’m Katie’s Sister. I have watched my sister care for my nephews mental illness tirelessly and with the strength of a momma bear that most times I’m unsure of where it comes from. She has bore this weight alone, fully as a single mom of 3, one of which is my most beautiful foster niece that Katie loves as though she’s her own, and she’s at a breaking point. She is struggling to keep up with work and dealing with Holdens many inpatient hospital stays, just when she starts to catch back up something new comes right along. I’ve never seen anyone fight for what’s best for her boy the way Katie has. Last night was the most terrifying thing I’ve personally ever witnessed and yet again I stood by my sister who stayed strong for her boy. These are her own words and what has been going on, “I don’t share much publicly about this sweet boys battle with mental illness. But life has been a roller coaster for about 3 years now. Hes had 6 inpatient stays. Countless psychiatrist visits, 7 YEARS of weekly therapy… But we’ve not gone through anything like what we went through last night. A large overdose, seizure, and a lot of other things led us to Christ advocate pediatric ICU. He did well through the night, but is still sedated and restrained. Pray for my boy, and what the future brings. He was only unsupervised for 20 minutes yesterday. That’s all it took. He was in a GREAT mood yesterday. We had a great day. They say that’s how it happens. I’ve fought against residential for years, because he’s my boy and I can manage. I can’t manage any longer. I have no idea whats going to happen from here.” My heart breaks for my sister and I would love if we could all gather what resources we can to help with travel expenses and her lost wages. Thank you.❤️
