Help Katie Repair Plumbing & Save Home
Donation protected
We are Katie's kids and hoping you can help her out.
Our mother is the most selfless person we know. She is a single mom who has worked her butt off to put the three of us through Catholic school and helped put us through college. She has been a Catholic school teacher for 30+ years, and gives everything to her students. She never complains and raised the three of us to always look out for others first. Josh is living and working in Washington DC. Courtney is graduating from Grand Valley and begins her career as a nurse this summer. Cam is in his first year at Central Michigan University. The three of us would not be where we are today without the sacrifices we have seen her make as well as the countless sacrifices we are unaware of. All that said, the three of us are not currently in a financial position to help in her current situation.
The home we all lived in with her for 13 years has had plumbing issues in the past. Long story short, the way the sump pump was installed caused part of the driveway to collapse, blocking (and bursting) the pipe and forcing water back into the basement, which is also our mom’s bedroom. With the pump turned off, the whole basement now floods when it rains, causing damage to walls, carpet and furniture. This urgent repair is going to cost at least $10,000. This unexpected, expensive emergency is not just inconvenient; it has the potential to place her in insurmountable debt. She also just had knee surgery, making it difficult to get around when she needs to get things done.
Family is helping where it can, but this problem is too significant to cover on our own. Anything you can spare towards helping our mom would be appreciated more than you will ever know. Anything given will go directly to the cost of digging up our front and back yard to reroute the sump pump system and repairs to the basement. Our mom is the first to donate to GoFundMe’s of people she doesn’t even know, and we are hoping the world can love her back as much as we do.
Best,
Josh, Courtney & Campbell
