Help Katie Lundy on her Path to Freedom
Donation protected
My name is Nicole aka Presh and I am writing this on behalf of my friend Katie Lundy.
As some of you know, our friend Katie has recently made some life changes for the better. A little over a month ago, she was homeless, broke, extremely depressed and very scared regarding the direction her life was taking. She was at what we call in the recovery world "a bottom" but lucky for her (and for us) she reached out for help.
On February 1, 2023 she made the decision to quit drinking alcohol. This is never easy, but we are happy to report that today is March 1, 2023 and she now has a month sober under her belt for the first time in a very long time.
Katie is extremely grateful for this new lease on life and is actively participating in a 12 step program. She is humble and relieved to be sober and alive, and is very serious about her recovery.
Some old friends of hers (myself included) have long term sobriety, and we can see that she is willing and is on the right path. We were able to help her initially by fundraising enough money from her friends and family (thank you so much to those of you that have helped out so far) to get her into detox and a safe, structured sober living house where she has been for the last 30 days.
Katie has been actively looking for work, and has applications out in many businesses near her sober living house, but she has not yet landed a job. We are writing this fundraiser in hopes to raise a little more money to keep a safe roof over her head, and to help get her back on her feet. We are trying to keep her housed in a sober environment as well as help with basic needs such as gas to get to meetings and look for employment, food, household supplies, etc.
The money raised from this Go Fund Me will be directly deposited into Katie's sister's account, who will use the funds to help Katie pay her bills and expenses for the time being until Katie is solidly employed.
We are in communication with Katie and trust that she is on the right path and taking the right steps in order to be financially stable on her own, but it does take some time after getting sober to get one's bearings and to get stable. We are just hoping with this fundraiser to buy her a little more time until solid work pans out. She is out of money and could use any help we can give her, even small donations will help if money is tight, as we know how those can add up to really make a difference in someone's life. Please share this campaign widely and we thank you in advance for your support.
We love you Katie and cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you now.
Keep up the good work !
