Help Katie Murray Secure a Home on Wheels

Hello all, I'm writing to you to request help today with buying a van to live in. For those of you that don't know me, I have been an activist since I was in high school and an educator of preschool aged children for seven years. However, about six years ago I got sick and unfortunately and reluctantly, I've been applying for disability for about a year now. The process often takes three years to get before a judge but my lawyer let me know about a client for whom it took 23 years to get disability! I'm hoping the process takes less time than that but for right now it would greatly help to have some support given that my daughter also has a disability and needs extra support right now.

The truth is that even if I was working at some of my previous jobs I wouldn't have been able to save enough to afford a van given the price of rent! Luckily, the great news is that I already have a van picked out. Some friends are offering it to me right now at a very low price.

I am a seventh generation Santa Barbarian but I cannot afford to stay in the area. Please consider donating to my fundraiser so I can continue to stay near family and maybe, just maybe get a bit better.
