Help Katie Nemeth Fight Cancer
Donation protected
To know my sister, Katie (Simon) Nemeth and her family, is to love them. On April 9, just one week after Katie's 38th birthday, she received the news that she has Triple Positive Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (an aggressive but treatable form of Breast Cancer.) In less than a week, she had a mammogram, ultrasound, emergency biopsy, which ultimately led to an appointment with a breast surgeon to discuss a treatment plan.
Katie and Jeff are approaching their 4 year wedding anniversary this May when they will celebrate the day they and their children officially became a family. Their younger children (Emma, age 10, and twins Charlotte and Sophie, age 9) are students at Holy Trinity School and are active in the Wallingford Girls Softball League. Hailey, age 17, is a senior in high school.
We humbly ask for your help. This act alone is not easy for Katie to do as she is far more comfortable being the one to help others. As you probably know, my sister bakes hundreds and hundreds of Christmas cookies each year giving the majority away to family and friends. This is one of many ways Katie has given to others she knows and loves.
While they do have health insurance, my sister's treatment plan includes out of network doctors, surgeons, and hospitals. In addition to these mounting medical expenses, Katie will need to take a leave of absence from her job as an RN in the Family Birthing Center at MidState Medical Center. Her LOA benefit will only cover her for 3 months with reduced pay and then after that she will be completely unpaid for many months. Her road will be long but between her faith and her amazing support system, she will get through this. Your generosity will help them in so many ways. We appreciate every kind thought, every prayer, and every penny donated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
