SUPPORT KAYLA’S TREATMENT FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AND MENTAL HEALTH REHABILITATION

Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Strangers,

 

I am reaching out with a heavy heart but also a renewed sense of hope for Kayla, because her family has finally found a specialized program that could finally give her life back to her.

She is the cherished daughter of my dear friend. The past 3 years have left Kayla battling unimaginable mental health struggles as a rape survivor, stripped of her innocence in her teens. It has now compounded into a more severe dual diagnosis which needs greater intervention and care.

Kayla is in the hospital once again and will need 24/7 care upon discharge. After countless hours of exhausting research, there is a potential lifeline — a specialized program in Arizona that ultimately can save Kayla’s life by offering a real chance at recovery, healing, and hopefully a bright future.

This is ultimately why I am seeking support - so Kayla can get the proper care she needs. It has been a long, exhausting, and emotional journey for both Kayla and her family. Every day has been an uphill battle as they’ve fought not only for her well-being, but also against the financial strain that comes with seeking the best care possible for her.

 

The family has done everything they can within their means. Hospital stays, countless doctors, therapies, treatments, and tests. However, due to the system being broken, there has been not only no real progress, but a continued decline.

This option has provided Kayla’s family renewed hope after feeling completely hopeless and helpless. Unfortunately, it is also beyond the financial means of most people. While a very small portion of this program is covered by insurance, a significant amount remains out-of-pocket – far beyond the resources her entire family combined can provide.

 

PLEASE take a moment and consider offering support so that my friend and her family can get their Kayla back. Whether it be ourselves, or someone we love - we all have been impacted by mental health demons let alone the unimaginable trauma of being a rape victim.

Her family has too much pride to ask for assistance, I do not! There is still good out there in this crazy world! Every donation, no matter how big or small, will bring them one step closer to saving her life - which is completely fragile as of today. It takes a village and your generosity will help give this beautiful young girl the chance to fight with the best possible resources by her side.
