Help Kayla During Her Recovery

Kayla Kennedy was hired at Chopt Arboretum right after Christmas in 2018 at the age of 16. Since then, Kayla has been nothing less than an exceptional employee. Over the past 3.5 years working with Chopt, Kayla was promoted to an Expert Chopr and  most recently, Kayla became a Shift Supervisor. Kayla will tell you that she loves to work. She is always willing to come in early if needed or on her day off to help out. Kayla is attending Paul Mitchell beauty school in Uptown Charlotte. This program takes up 40-45 hours and while enrolled, she still manages to work 30-40 hours a week at Chopt.

 

On Wednesday June 15th, two days before her birthday, Kayla was in a serious accident while leaving school. The person who hit her had stolen a car and tried to outrun the police. She suffered very serious injuries, including a shattered pelvis and broken femur. She is currently in the hospital waiting to undergo her second surgery on her shattered pelvis. After the surgery, she will have to have physical therapy in order to walk. While it is still up in the air how much time she will be out of work, it is safe to say it will be at least a couple of months.

 

Kayla is very much loved by all the managers and staff in Arboretum. She has been responsible for organizing Secret Santa every Christmas and recently initiated an Employee of the Month program. She has always tried to make the store and the team better regardless of her position.

 

All the money raised will go to Kayla to help her with her medical bills and personal expenses while she is recovering from her injuries and unable to work. Anything you can contribute to this fundraiser will be greatly appreciated and bring a light to Kayla during this difficult time.
