Help Kayla Fight Stevens Johnson Syndrome!

Hi, My name is Mitch Russon, One of Kaylas many friends. I am creating this gofundme to help Kayla with the costs of medical bills, and other costs associated with this tragic event that Kayla is dealing with. Kayla enjoys fishing, driving around with friends, her cat Spyro, and she loves life as a whole. Recently she checked herself into an Emergency room for what she believed to be normal allergies. Upon further testing, it was found that she was having an incredibly rare reaction known as "Stevens Johnson Syndrome" as a result of the medication "Lamictal" which she had only been taking for a few short weeks. Less than .1% of the users of this drug ever experience this reaction, and Kayla is one of only 3 patients in the state of Utah to experience this horrible reaction. SJS is incredibly painful, and Kayla has lost her ability to work, sleep, eat, or do anything that she enjoys, and it has left her with a very dire financial situation, which is why we are here. Kayla is expected to remain in the Burn ICU at the University of Utah for 4-6 weeks, where she is being treated for severe burn-like reactions on 30% of her body caused by her immune system attacking the damaged cells in her body. This reaction doesn't just stop on the outside. she has severe reactions in her mouth, throat, eyes, ears, and it is also damaging her liver. The disease starts as a small rash, and developes into blisters, and the blisters begin to peel, leaving her with exposed tissue, and a high likelihood of infections, not to mention unimaginable pain. Kayla was placed on oxygen, as well as a feeding tube, because it has become too painful for her to eat. we are asking for help from friends, family, or anyone who may find themselves interested in helping to support kayla during her time of need.
