Help Kayla Handle Unexpected Hospital Costs

Hi, my name is Kayla, and I'm reaching out today because my life changed in an instant, and I'm struggling to cover the medical expenses that have come with it.

On March 19th, I had a syncope and collapse episode, meaning I fainted and collapsed on the ground. I was immediately rushed to the hospital and examined. I ended up with an open laceration under my chin that was stitched up and a broken jaw in two places: multiple fractures along my left lower jaw and two fractures in the upper right jaw near the ear. When I heard this, I panicked as I had NEVER broken any bones nor had I been in a hospital for something so serious. The next day, I immediately went into a closed reduction operation that required anesthesia. The procedure's purpose was to realign my broken bones to their correct position and wire my mouth shut for three weeks to heal. The first week was the hardest week of my life. As I am on a liquid-only diet and was taking strong medication, I had not been able to nourish my body enough, which ended up in two more hospital trips. This is probably one of the most unexpected and scariest things that has ever happened to me, and nothing could have prepared me for the financial burden that would follow.

Despite having health insurance, the three hospital visits, emergency care, and the cost of the operation have resulted in an unexpected hospital bill that I simply cannot afford. These medical expenses are far beyond what my insurance covers, and I'm left with this debt I never anticipated. The funds will be used for all the hospital bills.

The amount I need to raise is $9,000 to cover those bills.

This has been an incredibly difficult time, both physically and mentally. I'm not usually one to ask for help or even create one of these, but I simply cannot handle this on my own.
