Help Kayla Learn from Broadway’s Best in New York!
Donation protected
Hi, everyone!
My name is Kayla Hutto! I’m a non-binary theatre artist from Barnwell, South Carolina. I’m currently a third-year Theatre major at the University of South Carolina Aiken, working under some amazing professors: Dewey Scot-Wiley, Chet Longley, Paul and Mary Fran Crook, and Keely Rhodes. Under their incredible guidance and with the help of so many other people, I received acceptance and a $400 scholarship to the Open Jar Institute through the Musical Theatre Initiative!
Open Jar has a Tony-winning board of directors and provides one-on-one training with some of Broadway’s best, including performers, directors, choreographers, agents, and casting directors in two forms—an eight-week residency program and a one-week summer intensive. My scholarship came with acceptance to the summer intensive program, which allows me to spend a week in New York working with Broadway’s best!
These funds will be used to pay for tuition, housing fees, and travel to NYC and back home as well as travel while in New York. Your support would mean more than the world to me. Theatre is my passion, my love, the thing I dream about doing so often that sometimes when I’m backstage I have to pinch myself before I go on to make sure I’m even awake. Theatre is everything to me, and this opportunity is one that will bring me so much further in my career.
I love each and every one of you with my entire being and I thank you so much for how much you’ve all supported me throughout my entire life, including now. I am so, so, so grateful.
With love,
Kayla Hutto ♥️
