Supporting Kaylee Through Cancer

Help us support Kaylee and Mike Salamon as Kaylee begins her battle with cancer.

Last week while being treated at the hospital for pneumonia, scans revealed lesions throughout Kaylee’s body. Additional tests, scans, and biopsies revealed that Kaylee has Lung Cancer. The doctor said she is 1 in a million. As a healthy, non-smoking 28 year old who has been an athlete all her life, this news has been both shocking and devastating. She will be undergoing extensive radiation and chemotherapy treatments in her battle. In order to get the best care possible, her doctors in Louisville have recommended that she receive treatment elsewhere, so she will be traveling to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Kaylee is a new mom to an almost 2 year old, Valerie, and is currently a math teacher at Echo Trail Middle School in Louisville, Kentucky. Anyone who knows Kaylee knows how tough and resilient she is. Kaylee is facing this diagnosis with incredible strength, courage and positivity. She is our hero!

As you can imagine, Kaylee and Mike face a difficult road and could use your love and support. The last thing we want them to worry about is the cost of medical bills and travel expenses. Any donations will be used towards alleviating those financial burdens as they travel to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas. We also appreciate any positive thoughts and prayers.
