Kaylene was in a rock-climbing accident in June of 2018. The accident resulted in several injuries, including the amputation of both her hand and leg. Since the accident, Kaylene married her boyfriend, the wonderful Josh Baker! She also returned to serving on staff with Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, and this May, they will be having a baby boy! Kaylene recently received a new prosthetic leg, as the old one expired. Unfortunately, insurance did not cover the entire price of her new prosthetic leg, leading Kaylene and Josh to pay $6,700 out of pocket. With a baby on the way and the other many medical bills that the Bakers already faced, we want to alleviate this financial burden.
