Help Kaytee Legally Adopt Parker

Hello Friends,

My name is Kate Edstrom, and I am a coworker and friend of our Dear Kaytee Yantis-Houser. As we all know, Kaytee and Emily are Parker's Mama and Mommy. Although Kaytee is not Parker's biological parent they are, without question, more proud to be a mom than anyone I have ever met. Their love and devotion to Emily and Parker is nothing short of remarkable, and I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of their lives. Love is what makes a family, and it's abundantly clear that the Yantis-Housers are a special little family

Kaytee and Emily have been married since 2016. Until recently, Kaytee's standing as Parker's legal parent has not been in question. This is no longer the case. With the recent SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and the concurring opinion by Justice Thomas that the nation’s highest court should reconsider a past ruling that enshrined rights to same-sex marriage, the Yantis-Housers are justifiably concerned that their legal status as a family is now threatened.

Although we all remain hopeful that this issue never makes it before the Court, Kaytee and Emily need to take action now to legalize Kaytee's status as Parker's parent. Kaytee's attorney has indicated that the process will cost around $3,000. Please join me in supporting Kaytee, Emily and Parker by donating what you can to ensure that Kaytee has the right to simply be considered Parker's mom.

Kaytee is a July 4th Babe, so consider donating as a birthday gift, a concrete action to support a friend in this time of chaos, and a message that we will not sit idly by and let the freedom and fundamental rights of people we love disappear.

Although the estimate of legal fees is currently estimated at $3,000, that number is not yet final. If additional funds are raised beyond what will cover the cost for the legal adoption, Kaytee and Emily will donate that amount to Planned Parenthood.
