Help Keefer's family heal

On March 3rd, while Keefer was at the emergency vet after being a naughty pup and getting into a bag of coffee, his family was absolutely devastated to learn he had a large cancerous tumor on his heart.  They hoped he would improve enough so that he could return home for whatever time he had left, but sadly he crossed the rainbow bridge the afternoon of March 4th. 

Anyone who met Keef loved him almost instantly, and when his foster-turned-forever mom Alicia saw his post on the CACC web page that he was urgent and his time was running short, she worked with the It's A Pittie Rescue organization to save his life.  The intention was to foster him, but Keefer was truly something special and quickly became Alicia and her husband's heart and soul.  As applications started coming in for him, they realized they could never let him go, and their bond grew even deeper with this beloved family member as the months went on. 

Besides being absolutely devastated from the pain of losing their soul dog, Keefer's family is also bearing a heavy burden of emergency vet bills.  The current total is $6,719.70, and we would love to raise as much as we can to help take that weight off of them and let them focus on grieving.  Please consider giving something to help as they gave Keefer his life back tenfold. 

Any extra funding raised above the vet bill will be donated to It's A Pittie Rescue to help them continue their incredible and endless work of saving Chicagoland's neediest dogs.

Run free, sweet boy.  We hope you are getting a never ending supply treats and big plastic balls to chase.  We'll never forget you.
