Help Keep a Roof over Jon's Head

I'm Lori Watts, and with my friend Lisa McGrath, I am raising funds to prevent a dear friend from becoming homeless. Our friend Jon recently suffered a medical emergency while unemployed and uninsured. Jon has poor circulation & a heart condition. He had a cut that got badly infected & necessitated emergency surgery; more surgery to is likely needed to remove dead tissue & repair the wound with a skin graft.

Unfortunately, he will be too ill to work for the foreseeable future. He has applied for disability, but disability claims can take months to be decided; he has only a few weeks of unemployment benefits left.

Jon is the most loving person you will ever meet. He has had a lot of misfortune in his life, but he has never let it turn him bitter. Jon has worked hard all his life but never had a job where he could get ahead, so now that he is unable to work, he is in a desperate situation.

Jon has always been there for his friends; now we want to be there for him.

We need a few thousand dollars to keep Jon in his home until his disability claim is decided. The money will be used to pay his rent and living expenses; if there is any left over, it will go toward his medical bills. If you have a few dollars to give, you would be doing a great kindness to a man who deserves and could use some kindness right now.
