Bonymaen Kids Play Initiative

We are a local charity focusing on the play for children ages 5-12 from the deprived Bonymaen area. We run an after school club and play schemes which allow children to play freely and create a space where they belong. As a result of this, the children have improved their physical and social skills through the medium of play while learning to take risks. 

90% of our children who attend come from low income families and around 50% of our regular children have additional learning and social needs such as; ASD, ADHD and Global development delay. We also have a high number of children who are looked after or have social services support. Currently we have around 160 children registered up to 35 children attend per day and over a week we support around 100 different children that attend regularly. 

Our aim is to keep doing the fantastic work we've been doing and to reach as many children as possible to give them the best play opportunities.

All our staff have relevant qualifications, DBS checked and have up-to-date relevant training. We are a passionate team with some of our staff having over 20 years experience working with children from different backgrounds. We believe that consistency with staff is extremely important to help build positive relationships with the children so they are able to express themselves, build self confidence and develop some important life skills.

For this to be able to happen we need funds. Grants aren't always available so we have to rely on fundraising and sponsorship. If you feel you would like to support us please donate as the children, families, staff and community will be extremely grateful.
