Help Keep Enigma Bar Supporting Live Music

I am the founder and operator of Adelaides iconic live music venue Enigma Bar

Enigma came into being 22 years ago to accomodate and encourage live bands to perform at a venue which was run by people with music backgrounds and were able to understand the needs of bands and artists and give them a great venue to perform in.

Over the years enigma has had thousands of bands and artist perform there and several hundred thousand plus people attend from all walks of life. Thousands will also remember having a great time and seeing their favourite artists there in a grass roots venue. We have survived recession ,epidemics and other occurrences and this was done with the help of our patrons supporting the venue through good times and bad. We are now at point due to the pandemic and Melbourne and Sydney being shut down, with no availability of Australian touring bands and no international tours for the foreseeable future that we are just relying on the local talent to open. Just over the last few months we have had over 60 cancellations of interstate and international touring bands. Unfortunately even some of the patrons and bands who would support local shows are reluctant to venture out because of corona virus restrictions with masks and seating requirements who may not be able to enjoy the event.

The corona virus due to the fact that live music through bar sales is our only source of income has placed us under some pressure.

We are trying to resolve some issues with the landlord, real estate and power company to reach a compromise so the funds we raise will go to these issues.

Enigma has supported Adelaide bands and musicians but also has put the Adelaide through the venue in the spotlight for overseas promoters as a prime mid size venue.

The aim is to keep enigma doing what it does best and has done since 1999 supporting live music

we would love to have support from past and present patrons and even people who love live music and have not been to Enigma to offer support. The venue and staff would be very grateful for help from the public to acheive a great outcome.
