Help keep Fanny Bay OAP Hall in our community
Donation protected
We are the Fanny Bay Seniors (OAP #127) on beautiful Vancouver Island, and we have a crisis on our hands. Our beloved Fanny Bay OAP Hall and property has been put up for sale by the Anglican Church Diocese.
Even though the land and buildings were all donated by local families and businesses, and the OAP has paid rent and maintained the property for almost 50 years, the Church chose to sell it instead of donating it back to the community.
There are hundreds of people in Fanny Bay and the surrounding area who will be directly affected by this action, especially our seniors. Alternative venues are few as the local community association building is a poor fit for the groups we accommodate. This puts the future of the OAP and the groups that use our facilities (including artists, quilters, garden club, Lions Club, local firefighters, dancers, and musicians) in jeopardy of not having anywhere nearby to meet.
Time is of the essence because the property is for sale now. Please help us to save our precious little hall and keep it a part of the community forever. ACT NOW. PLEASE DONATE!
All the money raised will go towards purchasing the property (on our own or with a partner) or, if that fails, finding another suitable venue/partnership so that we are able to continue providing the same community services as we do now. Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring us closer to our goal.
