Help keep Grandmas Dream Alive & Save Her Home
Donation protected
For as long as I can remember, my Grandma dreamed of owning a home. My Grandpa and she finally purchased their first home when I was in middle school. Their home is very unique. It was one of the first homes built in our hometown around 150 years ago, and if I'm not mistaken, one of the longest-standing structures. It once served as the location of our local museum. My Grandma's dream was to restore the home. We admit throughout the years, we definitely grew exhausted hearing about it! lol. Before my Grandma's dream could be fulfilled, she passed away suddenly on May 20, 2024. It came as a shock to our family, as we lost our matriarch - she was truly bigger than the whole sky. We miss her deeply every day and are struggling to find our footing without both her and my Grandpa there to guide us.
We now find ourselves in a terrible situation, where we might not be able to keep her home and property. My mom, my sister, and I are desperately trying to save it. Unbeknownst to us, our grandparents owed taxes on the property. We currently have around 60 days to raise the money to pay the past due taxes and try to keep the home in our family, and their dream alive. I've never created a GoFundMe before nor asked friends for help. I'm asking with my whole heart, for help to save their home.
All funds will go towards paying taxes owed on the property.
Our goal is to make her dream come true - keep the home in our family & restore it, so that it continues to stand strong as a historical fixture in our hometown.
