Help keep Keith Kurey home

This lovely man is Keith Kurey. He is a Marine, he is a father, he is a brother , he is an uncle, he is a friend. HE IS 50 YEARS OLD. Keith was 36 when his life changed forever. We were in the prime of our lives, him and I. We had just had our first child. Keith was a truck driver, and he did construction on the side. This allowed me to stay at home with our little girl. Keith mother had passed in 1997 from a rare genetic disease HUNTINGTONS CHOREA. It is a brain disease that releases a mutant protein that kills brain tissue. Keith's sister was diagnosed with HD a few years before we had met. We never thought that he had the disease. He kept declining in his driving abilities, and forgetting things. He was not himself
Keith was tested , and the results were our worst nightmare. We had to have him file for disability. That doesn't pay much if you haven't worked very long. Our little family started to fall apart. We talked alot before the diagnosis. We promised to stick it out. I promised to always take care of him. A few things he made sure to ask of me. PLEASE No feeding tubes( this prolongs the suffering) and PLEASE No nursing homes. Now 14 years later, we are here ,near the end.Keith has fought a tremendous battle. He has beat pneumonia twice, a collapsed lung, and now Covid. This disease has robbed him of everything!! I want to keep my promise of No nursing home, I saw his sister in one, it is heart wrenching. I have moved on an have a wonderful partner. He has been taking care of Keith for the last few years , helping me raise mine and Keith's daughter, like his own. When Keith had Covid and was sent home, someone had to be with him 24-7. My partner stepped up, he took a hit , and sacrificed his job, to help me keep mine. In order for us to keep Keith we need help. We can not survive on my paycheck . Please help me keep my promise. I pray no person ever has to watch someone you love go through this. The worst part of HD. Is mourning a person who is still physically there. All he has ever said was he wants to be here. Please if you can't donate , share my story. Thank you.
