Help keep Mattox's parents with him in Columbus

Donation protected
Hello my name is Joyce Myers andMattox is my grandson! I've created this gofundme account to help raise money for my grandson, so his parents can be with him in Columbus during his stay in the NICU.

Meet Mattox William Smith Born at 26 weeks on December 21st, 2022 at 7:08 pm weighing 2 LBS 6.1 OZ and 14.57 in. long.

Mattox was born to Lynn Myers and Kenneth Smith. Lynn's pregnancy was going great, and Mattox was growing as he should. On Dec. 21st Lynn felt pressure and started bleeding She Went to MMH and was life-flighted to OSU in Columbus she delivered Mattox via emergency C-section within 20 minutes of her arrival at OSU. Kenneth and I were still 55 miles from Columbus when we got the call that they were taking her to the OR, we were scared. Lynn was scared and alone 2 and a half hrs from home. Not only did Mattox have a traumatic birth Lynn also had a traumatic delivery. She as in surgery for an hr and a half they were having trouble getting the bleeding to stop, they ended up having to use a Jada for several hra to help stop the bleeding. After surgery when they removed the breathing tube she went into a Bronchial Asthma Attack, which in turn she had difficulty breathing for almost 2 days, and that was with breathing treatments. She is doing much better.

Mattox on the other hand will remain in the hospital until his due date of March 29th, 2023 in hopes that he is well enough to come home sooner. Premature babies are not released from the hospital before 35 weeks and weighing at least 4 and a half lbs.

Lynn's off work earlier than expected. While she and Kenneth are staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Columbus. Not only do they have their regular experience here at home. They also have the expense of coming to Marietta for their own Dr appointments and Kenny's wrist surgery, that were scheduled before Mattox's birth. Their biggest expense is that of the hospital parking, although the hospital validates their parking ticket it still costs them $3.00 each time they exit the parking garage. They try to visit him twice a day, once in the morning, they return to Ronald McDonald House for lunch and dinner, and then back to the hospital to visit Mattox before bed. The cost for parking alone if he is there for 90 days is $270.00 if they only visit one time a day and $540.00 if they visit twice a day.

I'm setting up this page because it's important to me that Mattox has his parents with him. He needs the physical touch of his mom and dad to help him thrive.

If anyone would like to assist Lynn, Kenny, and baby Mattox with their expenses, here are a few other links that will send money directly to their account for Mattox.
